This is also the story of Christmas. Christ came to restore mankind to Himself. Sin had cursed us and brought separation from God. Offerings could not restore. Sacrifices could not atone. Restoration comes only by the death of God’s Son. That is why Christ was born in the shadow of a Cross. Christmas is about God seeking to restore mankind unto Himself.
