Luke 2:36-38 | Psalm 23:6

Because Anna faithfully lived in the spiritual presence of God every day, she was rewarded with the physical presence of God in the baby Jesus. This gift of Jesus’ physical presence, promised to every believer (John 14:1-4), is Heaven. Being and dwelling with Jesus forever is what every believer waits for.

We do not wait in vain for He who promised is faithful (Heb 10:23)! Have any of His promises failed (Joshua 21:45)? The One who has done the work of Salvation in you will also complete it in glory (Phil 1:6). We will be with Him and be like Him (1 John 3:2, Rom 6:5).

Christmas is about the arrival of baby Jesus to a waiting, oppressed nation. It’s also about the future arrival of King Jesus to His waiting, victorious church. He will come seeking us again and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
